Audio Recording
Audio recording services are provided by Audio Engineering students as part of their ensemble, MUS-X90 Audio Technical Crew. All MAJOR ENSEMBLE, FACULTY, GUEST, SMALL ENSEMBLE, DM and AD RECITALS are automatically recorded, no action is needed by the performer to initiate these recordings. Completed recordings are delivered via Google Drive one to two weeks after each performance, notification will be emailed to the primary artists named on the concert program. Please note that the recordings are delivered as one or two large files, we do not split the recording into individual works or movements. Send questions to audiopro@indiana.edu

I am performing my DM or AD recital, how do I get sound reinforcement?
Auer, Ford, and Recital Hall all have self-serve access to the audio system as well as a couple of microphones. Click here for information specific to each recital hall and its sound system. Audio Engineering does not otherwise provide reinforcement support for these recitals due to time and personnel constraints.
We are happy to provide information to help you navigate the use of these systems. Please email Recording Services - recserv@indiana.edu.
How do I get a link to my recording?
Depending on whether your concert was streamed via IUMusicLIve or not, it generally takes 1-2 weeks to process and deliver your concert. If your concert was live streamed, it may take up to 4 weeks for your concert to be available. If your concert was over 1 year ago, please email the school of music library.
I would like someone not currently shared (such as students) and/or outside of the IU Network to have access to my recital folder.
When you receive your delivery email, a link will be provided to you that you can share to anyone with an IU email account. For security reasons, we do not allow outside email accounts to access our Google Drive share folders. We recommend you download your concert and share it to them via your IU Google Drive or IU OneDrive accounts.
Will a JSoM Audio Engineer be at my rehearsal?
JSoM Audio Engineers typically attend rehearsals for all major ensemble activities and some faculty, guest, or small ensemble activities. It is highly dependent on student availability and scheduling.

I am not happy with the quality of my recording.
While we strive for excellence in all recordings, these are done by students of varying levels and not all recordings may be perfect. You may reach out to audiopro@iu.edu to inquire about assistance in boosting or sweetening your recording, but no guarantees are made in this regard.
I am not on the list of people that can be recorded. How do I get you to record my recital?
Recording Services is comprised of students who are employed to provide recordings for recitals outside of the MUS-X 090 jurisdiction. During your scheduling process, you will have an opportunity to request a Recording Services copy of your recital. The current cost for this service is $xx.xx
You are also permitted to hire an outside contractor to record your performance. Guidelines for hiring outside contractors are here. Note: Outside contractors cannot use IU Audio Engineering equipment.
