How do I find my university ID number and obtain information about payroll and benefits?
Contact the Jacobs School of Music Human Resources Director, Joyce Leonard, at (812) 855-1173 or email@example.com.
You will need to schedule an appointment to meet with Joyce prior to the beginning of classes to complete the Federal Form I-9, which confirms eligibility to work in the U.S. If you are a US citizen, please bring your valid US passport or your valid driver’s license and social security card. If you are not a US citizen, please bring your valid passport, all immigration documentation.
You will receive an email invitation from HireRight with instructions to complete the employee section of the online Federal Form I-9. Please complete this activity as soon as possible as there is a firm deadline of August 23, 2023. Joyce will complete the employer section following your meeting.
How do I set up an IU e-mail account?
Go to the Accounts Managements Services at: https://itaccounts.iu.edu/ and follow the instructions. You will be required to submit your ID number. The user name and password are also used to log on to all IU accounts, such as One.IU and Canvas, so it is important to set this up as soon as possible. You will need them to access rosters, grades, and your email. If you prefer, you can get assistance setting up your account in person on the fourth floor of the West Tower of the Wells Library (1320 E. Tenth Street).
How do I find out about insurance and benefits?
Indiana University Human Resources will send an email to the personal email account you provided introducing all of the various IU Benefit Programs available to you, including health plans, retirement plans, and other benefits as well as instructions on how to enroll online. Your benefits begin on the first day of your appointment, provided you complete the benefit enrollment process within 30 days of your official start date (e.g., enrollment must be completed by August 30, 2023 for faculty with August 1, 2023 appointment dates). Please contact Jacobs School of Music Human Resources Director, Joyce Leonard, at 855-1173 (Simon Music Center - West Wing, room C181, firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
