Multiple Late Withdrawal Policy
Indiana University Bloomington undergraduate students who complete a Withdrawal from All Subjects for two for two academic terms (fall, spring, or summer) will not be permitted to register for a future term without written permission of the dean of their college/school or the dean's delegate (Director of Undergraduate Studies). These students will have a Negative Service Indicator (hold) that prevents future registration placed on their record by the Office of the Registrar until such permission is obtained.
Each college/school and University Division will develop a process by which undergraduate students may petition to resume their studies. The petition process will require the student to provide a written explanation of the reason(s) for multiple late withdrawals from the university and how the student's current circumstances will allow for successful completion of the term for which re-enrollment is being sought.
Undergraduates who wish to file a petition pursuant to this policy should consult the website for the college/ school in which the student is enrolled for information related to that college/ school's specific petition process, including required documentation (if any) and instructions on how to submit the petition. For those students pursuing degrees in more than one school, the petition requirements for the student's primary program will apply.
JSOM students must submit the petition to the Director (musicdus@indiana.edu) no later than 3 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which the student wishes to resume enrollment.
