Your Temperament
- Tune A4 to fork. The number 4 indicates notes in the octave above middle C4.
- Tune A3 to A4. the number 3 indicates notes in the octave below middle C4.
- Tune F3 to A3 making a wide 3rd, any size.
- Tune C4 to F3 making a perfect 5th.
- Tune D4 to A3 making a perfect 4th.
- Tune G3 to C4 and D4. Put the same amount of dirt in the G3C4 4th and the G3D4 5th.
- Re-tune C4 to F3 and G3 making the F3C4 5th sound like the G3C4 4th.
- Re-tune D4 to G3 and A3 making the G3D4 5th sound like the A3D4 4th.
- Tune E4 making a narrow A3E4 5th that sounds like the G3D4 5th.
- Tune B3 making a wide B3E4 4th that sounds like the G3C4 4th. Play FAC,GBD,GCE and make adjustments as needed.
- Tune C3 to C4 making a good octave. Check C3F3 4th and C3G3 5th.
- Tune D3 to D4 making a good octave. Check D3G3 4th and D3A3 5th.
- Tune E3 to E4 making a good octave. Check E3A3 4th and E3B3 5th.
You should have all the naturals from C3 to E4 tuned. Re-check everything and make adjustments as needed. Then tune the accidentals. - Tune F#3 making a suitable D3F#3 3rd and F#3B3 4th.
- Tune C#4 making a suitable F#3C#4 5th and A3C#4 3rd.
- Tune Bb3 making a suitable F3Bb3 4th and Bb3D4 3rd.
- Tune Eb4 making a suitable Bb3Eb4 4th.
- Tune G#3/Ab3 making a good G#3C#4 4th and Ab3Eb4 5th.
- Tune F4,F#4,G4,G#4 etc. checking 4ths, 5ths, and octaves.
- Tune Eb3,C#3,B2 etc. checking 4ths, 5ths, and octaves.
