The Gliere Project
For their class recital in the Spring of 2015, the students of Prof. Seraphinoff each performed a short piece for horn and piano by Gliere from his Eleven Pieces, Op. 35, and a short unaccompanied prelude by A. Belolli. After the recital, the pieces were recorded by Walter Everton, who is majoring in Horn and Audio Engineering, and here is the final product for you to enjoy. Two of the pieces were originally for horn, two were transcribed earlier from clarinet pieces, and four were transcribed for this project by Prof. Seraphinoff from pieces for oboe and bassoon.
Gliere’s Op. 35 consists of two pieces each for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon, and one piece for Cello.
