Chelsey Belt, Secretary
Chelsey Belt is a PhD student in Musicology at Indiana University. She completed her MM at Boston University and her BME at Illinois Wesleyan University. Her research interests gravitate toward the sixteenth century: print culture, humanism, the Reformation, instrumentalists, and various combinations thereof. As a specialist in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century violin technique, Chelsey has performed with the Cavalier Consort, Canto Armonico, Andromeda, and Ensemble 44. She enjoys playing on early operas, and has appeared in string bands for Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and L'Incoronazione di Poppea at Madison Early Music Festival, Cavalli's La Calisto at Queens College, and Francesca Caccini’s La Liberazione di Ruggiero and Marco da Gagliano’s La Dafne in Triora, Italy.
