Request a Pianist
Guidelines for Requesting a Collaborative Pianist
Please read carefully before submitting the form!
Collaborative resources include collaborative piano faculty, collaborative piano performance majors, and other piano students enrolled in required collaborative courses. Because the number of collaborative pianists is limited, it is important to make arrangements as early as possible.
Degree Recital — 9 weeks before the recital date*
Upper Divisional Exam or Freshman Jury — 6 weeks before the exam or jury date
JSOM Concerto Competition — 6 weeks before the departmental preliminary
Studio or Departmental Recital — 4 weeks before the recital date
Lessons or Studio Class — 3 weeks before the lesson or studio class date
Requests received after the stated deadlines will be considered, but are not guaranteed to be fulfilled. Due to limited resources, we can not guarantee collaborative support for all JSOM student needs, however we will prioritize required degree recitals, upper divisional exams, freshman juries, JSOM concerto competitions and studio recitals.
Please don’t assume your assigned collaborative pianist is available for extra events. Communicate any additional needs to firstname.lastname@example.org. Requests for collaborative pianists for audio or video recordings or off-campus competitions will be treated as private engagements and will be paid for by the student. You may contact email@example.com for appropriate recommendations.
*If your degree recital is postponed, or if the repertoire changes substantially, assignments may be reconsidered and possibly withdrawn. Please remember, the sooner you communicate your needs, the more options we have for partnering.
