An Organ at the Crossroads:

Inaugural Festivities for Indiana University’s Newest Instrument

Charles Fisk, Opus 91

 Presenters:

• JSoM Organ Faculty, opening recital, Sunday and Monday evenings.
• Members of C.B. Fisk, an exploration of Opus 91.
• Jesse Eschbach, University of North Texas, IU alumnus and recipient of the 2008 Ragatz Distinguished Alumni Award, lectures and master classes on the French organ and its repertoire from the 17^th to the early 19^th centuries.
• James David Christie, Oberlin Conservatory, recital of C.B. Fisk, Opus 91 and master class on organ performance of French Romantic repertoire.
• William Porter, Eastman School of Music, recital of improvisations in styles spanning the full range of French organ repertoire; master class on improvisation in historical styles.
• JSoM Organ Student performances:  Sacred Music Practicum presentation including of music in  “alternatim” practice.
