Welcome to the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Department of Bands/Wind Conducting!
An integral part of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, the IU Department of Bands holds a distinguished reputation for musical leadership in the wind band field. The department is represented by three music-major Concert Ensembles (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band), the All-Campus Band, The Marching Hundred, the Big Red Basketball Band and the Crabb Pep Band (men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball and women's basketball), as well as the Summer Concert Band that gives two full length “Sousa–style” concerts for large audiences in the Summer. The Concert Ensembles perform a wide variety of music, including classics of the repertoire, chamber music for winds, contemporary works, and premieres of newly commissioned works by prominent composers. Guest artists with the bands regularly include world-renowned soloists from the Jacobs School of Music faculty and others of international stature. We hope that you find this website informative and useful!
