A number of publications have been associated with CHMTL’s activities and personnel during Thomas Mathiesen's directorship:
GLMT and PCHMTL (1984-2004)
Greek and Latin Music Theory (GLMT) was a series aiming to establish critical texts for many works of ancient, medieval, and (occasionally) Renaissance music theory in Greek and Latin that did not exist in critical editions, accompanied by facing-page translations with introductions illuminating the content of the treatise.
The Publications of the Center for the History of Music Theory and Literature (PCHMTL) was a series of individual monographs, catalogues, and bibliographies pertaining to the Center's broad areas of interest and its specific projects. The two series were founded and directed by Thomas J. Mathiesen and published by the University of Nebraska Press.
SHOMTL (2006- )
Founded and directed by Thomas J. Mathiesen, Studies in the History of Music Theory and Literature (SHOMTL) continues the tradition established by the two earlier series: individual monographs, editions, translations, catalogues, and bibliographies are published by the University of Illinois Press.
