Minimum Grades Required For Master's Programs
Students in a master's degree program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to graduate.
Music History and Music Theory review courses (if necessary)
- MUS-M 501 Proseminar in Music History and Literature: minimum grade C
- MUS-T 508 Written Music Theory Review for Graduate Students: minimum grade C, or B for High Pass degrees.
- MUS-T 509 Sight-Singing Review for Graduate Students: minimum grade C
- MUS-T 511 Aural Music Theory Review for Graduate Students: minimum grade C, or B for High Pass degrees
Major
Each course in the major field must have a grade of B or higher to fulfill degree requirements.
Music History and Literature Requirement
Each course in this requirement must have a grade of C or higher to fulfill degree requirements.
Other Required Credits (either Outside Area or general electives)
Each course in the Other Required Credits category must have a grade of C or higher to fulfill degree requirements. In addition, courses counting toward the requirement must have an average of at least B. Departments offering an outside area or minor may require a higher grade.
Tool Subjects
Students must earn a grade of C or higher in each course to fulfill degree requirements (some departments require a higher grade).
Language Proficiencies
Each grammar, diction, or reading course must have a grade of C or higher to fulfill degree requirements (some departments require a higher grade).
