We remember, with great affection, the five IU Jacobs School of Music students who lost their lives around midnight on April 20, 2006. This Web site is an ongoing project that attempts to capture how, in their unique ways, they touched and transformed the lives of many.
CHRIS CARDUCCI
Chris Carducci was a masters student studying with Tim Noble and recently appeared at Carnegie Hall, where he presented selections from Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch for The Marilyn Horne Foundation's The Song Continues...2005.
GARTH EPPLEY
Garth Eppley, tenor, was a native of Wabash, IN. He was a master's student studying with Timothy Noble. He was a frequent soloist with the IU Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, recently singing the role of Pilatus in Arvo Pärt's Passio.
GEORGINA JOSHI
A native of South Bend, IN, Georgina Joshi had received her Bachelor of Music from the Royal College of Music, London. Notably, Joshi had sung for the gala opera night at the Beamaris Festival with the Welsh Chamber Orchestra conducted by Anthony Hose.
ZACHARY NOVAK
Zach Novak was a native of Anderson, IN, and graduated from Anderson University in 2004. He was a master's student in choral conducting, and studied voice with Brian Horne.
ROBERT SAMELS
Robert Samels was in the doctoral program and had studied with Giorgio Tozzi and Costanza Cuccaro. He appeared as Dr. Gibbs in the world premiere of Our Town and was a well-known personality on local public radio WFIU. [blog]
